- Loosely translated, the word “Frauenlob” means “praise of ladies” in German. If we dig deeper, we find out Heinrich Frauenlob (aka Henry of Meissen, 1250-1318) was a celebrated poet of the medieval period. Some of his more noted works are songs celebrating women. While we don’t know the exact origin of this metal sign, it’s fun to imagine what type of business entrance it could have possibly graced. Sourced from our travels to High Point Market.
