Memorial Day Sangria aka the “Finally Summer Sangria”



A sangria for people who believe Memorial Day weekends should include sunshine, questionable tan lines, and at least one friend dramatically saying, “Wait…what’s in this?” after their second glass.



The Memorial Day Sangria



You'll Need


  • 1 bottle crisp white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio – nothing too sweet.)
  • 1 cup peach nectar
  • ½ cup Grand Marnier
  • 1 peach, sliced thin
  • 1 cup strawberries, halved
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 2 cups of lemon-lime soda
  • Ice, preferably… a lot.


Directions


  • In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, peach nectar, and Grand Marnier. Stir like you’re pretending you hosted this party without breaking a sweat.
  • Toss in the peaches, strawberries, blueberries, lemon, and lime. You’re now the kind of person who says things like, “notes of citrus”.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the fruit can gossip with the alcohol properly.
  • Right before serving, add the lemon-lime soda and plenty of ice
  • Serve in oversized glasses and try to act shocked when everyone asks for the recipe.
