A VALENTINE'S NIGHT IN, DONE BEAUTIFULLY

The Beauty Of Staying In

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes, the most memorable moments are the ones that unfold at home—unrushed, layered with intention, and touched by beauty in the smallest details. It’s the clink of a glass set down just right, the way fresh stems soften a space, the ease of sharing something thoughtfully prepared. An evening in becomes more than staying home—it becomes an experience, created slowly and meant to linger.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re leaning into that kind of beauty—the kind that lives in texture, ritual, and the simple joy of being present.

The Mood, Gently Set

Before the flowers are arranged or the drinks are poured, it helps to set the tone. Soft lighting changes everything—lamplight over overheads, candles flickering low, shadows dancing across the table. Choose one surface to anchor the evening: a dining table, a coffee table, even a kitchen island. This becomes the heart of the night.

Fresh Flowers (and Vases You'll Want To Keep Out Year-Round)

Flowers have a way of softening a space & will instantly elevate Valentine’s Day at home. For Valentine’s Day, think less about a single, formal bouquet and more about a collection—vases and vessels in varying heights and materials, gathered like a quiet conversation. Clear glass allows stems and water to become part of the design. Sculptural ceramics bring warmth and weight. Smaller vessels scattered along a table feel intimate, almost effortless.

When Creating Your Bouquet:

  • Begin with greenery to establish movement and shape.
  • Choose just two or three flower varieties for a look that feels elevated, not busy.
  • Trim stems at varying lengths so arrangements feel loose and organic.
  • Let flowers lean and breathe—imperfection is where the romance lives.

The goal isn’t symmetry. It’s softness. Something that feels alive.

Shop Vases & Vessles

our take: Warm pinks, burgundy and taupe are quietly reshaping the color story in furniture and home décor and fresh florals are the perfect way to echo that movement. Working with a florist unlocks unexpected hues and varietals you may not even know exist, helping your vases become part of a richer, more layered palette. It’s as simple as showing them the colored vessel you want to work with! Head over to our Instagram to see how we styled this set here.

Something to Sip: Two Valentine’s Day Cocktails

A thoughtfully chosen drink marks the transition into the evening—it signals that this moment is worth savoring.

The Blushing Negroni

See It Made Here

Bittersweet, blushing, and slightly mysterious – this is a Negroni that knows how to soften the room with without stealing the spotlight.

A little flirtation, neatly dressed. You'll need:

  • 1 oz. gin – crisp, confident
  • 1 oz. Aperol (Or Campari if you like a little edge)
  • 1 oz. dry vermouth – cool and collected
  • ¼ oz. pomegranate juice – just enough blush
  • Orange peel or lemon twist
  • Optional: a single edible rose petal or raspberry, because romance

Directions

  • Fill a mixing glass with ice and let it chill for a moment – no rushing here.
  • Add gin, Aperol, vermouth, and pomegranate juice.
  • Stir slowly and deliberately, like you have nowhere else to be.
  • Strain over a large cube in a rocks glass (the good one).
  • Express a citrus peel over the top, then decide if it stays or goes. Finish with a garnish if the mood strikes.

Kir Royale

Kir Royal

A Kir Royale, or the simpler Kir, is a very popular and classic French apéritif enjoyed in cafes, restaurants, and home for after work drinks (apéros) or special occasions, made with crème de cassis and champagne (or white wine for the regular Kir). It’s bright, buoyant, and unapologetically celebratory. The Kir Royale is proof that the simplest things often feel the most special - especially when bubbles are involved.

French, flirtatious. Always appropriate. You'll need:

  • Crème de Cassis – dark, glossy, a little dramatic.
  • Champagne or Sparkling Wine (Dry is often preferred). Generous, obviously.
  • Garnish (optional). A fresh raspberry or a lemon twist.

Directions

  • Pour about ½ oz. (or 1 part) of crème de cassis into a chilled champagne coupe. Just a little, not too loud.
  • Slowly top with chilled Champagne or sparkling wine (about 3 ounces or 9 parts). Let it mingle on its own. No stirring required.
  • Garnish with a fresh raspberry or a lemon twist…optional, but charming.
  • Sip immediately. This cocktail does not like to wait.

Remember: it’s not about complexity. It’s about intention and these two make for the perfect at-home Valentine cocktail recipes.

The Art of the Charcuterie—How To Build The Perfect Charcuterie Board At Home

A charcuterie board is less about perfection and more about balance. It’s meant to be grazed, shared, revisited—a centerpiece that invites pause. Start with a beautiful board, tray or platter—wood, marble, or ceramic all work beautifully.

Build In Layers:

  • A mix of cheeses
  • Cured Meats, cut, folded or gently draped
  • Something sweet—jam, honey, or fresh fruit
  • Something briny—olives or cornichons
  • Crunch—crackers, nuts, or sliced baguette

Leave space. Negative space allows each element to shine. Cut some cheeses, leave others whole. Use small bowls to add height and softness. Tuck in fresh herbs or greenery for an effortless, gathered feel. This isn’t about abundance—it’s about thoughtfulness.

Charcuterie How To

our tip: Fifteen minutes before your guests arrive is not the time to begin your charcuterie board. Additionally, putting together your charcuterie board is something done behind the scenes and finished well before that first knock at the door. It’s meant to delight and feed your guests while you carry on with your entertaining or any other work in the kitchen; give yourself a good hour to thoughtfully build it out. See a tutorial over on our Instagram here.

Valentine’s Day at home is a reminder that love lives in the quiet moments—the ones you create with care, the ones that don’t need to be rushed. When beauty is intentional and the pace is slow, date night at home becomes something you’ll want to do again and again.

Stay in. Pour slowly. Let it linger.
